Vietnam's exports of tra fish expected to grow in 2019

(MENAFN) Vietnam is expected to make tra fish export revenue of USD2.4 billion this year, up from USD2.3 billion in 2018.

The turnovers are attainable due to many positive factors, including China's increasing demand for tra fish and lower tariffs in European markets.

Last year, the United States was the major importer of tra fish with USD549 million, up 60 percent on-year, followed by China with USD529 million, up 29 percent, and the European Union with USD244 million, up 20 percent.

The country has earned more than USD8.8 billion from exporting seafood in 2018, mainly prawns and catfish, posting a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent.
