Top Arab legislator urges lifting Sudan from terror list

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Arab parliament speaker Meshaal Al-Salami said on Sunday it is now time to get Sudan out of the list of state sponsors of terrorism so that it could develop its economy and build its trade partnerships.

Al-Salami made the remark while addressing an Arab parliament meeting held in Cairo to look into how to lift Sudan from the terror list.

Over 26 years, Sudan has suffered the negative effects of serious challenges and hardships at both public and private levels, especially in economic and development realms, he regretted.

He pointed out a plan of action worked out by the 29th Arab Summit to lift Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Sudan has exerted praiseworthy efforts at Arab, regional and international levels in the field of fighting terrorism and promoting peace through effective participation in the Saudi-left Arab coalition in Yemen. (Pick up previous) mfm.mt
