UAE- Shoppers win Dh6.5m worth of prizes at DSF


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Shoppers at the 24th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) were treated to five weeks of extensive promotions aimed at enriching their shopping experience and with Dh6.5 million worth of prizes to be won including 32kg of gold, five BMW cars, several gold bars, and Samsung smart TVs.

For the first time since its inception in 1996, the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG) designed two separate promotions for gold and diamond shoppers. With over 250 participating outlets, the 39 days promotion saw as many as 142 winners taking home valuable gifts, making it the biggest season for shoppers so far. The newly introduced promotions across the jewellery category also boosted the interest of shoppers and sales this year.

Tawhid Abdullah, chairman of the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, said: "For the first time, we introduced separate gold and diamond campaigns and witnessed a significant increase in footfall and sales at this shopping festival. This was a well-thought initiative and we have been successful to a large extent. The market has evolved over the years and so did we in terms of our promotions. We saw a lot a millennial buyers from the Asian subcontinent, Arab world, and Europe, which is a very encouraging sign. We hope to see a similar or even better participation by the shoppers next year. Both gold and diamonds are important from a consumer demand perspective and the campaign focused highly on them during the shopping season."

The Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group has given away a total of 950kg of gold over the last 24 years, more than any other establishment in the world.
