Saeed Nasser Al Qadi yesterday produced a flawless routine with his ride Daydreamer EC, to win the Big Tour on final day of the 7th Round of Hathab Series.
Daydreamer EC clocked a time of 28.32 seconds in the two-phased 130-145cm competition at the Outdoor Arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF).
Al Qadi bagged the top prize of QR 8,750 for his efforts on day two of the 7th Round of the hugely popular show jumping series.
Nasser Al Ghazali, astride Aslan 69, finished in second spot in a time of 28.49 seconds. Al Ghazali won QR 7,000.
Salmeen Sultan Al Suwaidi (Cantaro 32, 29.11 seconds, QR5,250) finished in third spot out 15 riders in the fray.
Faleh Suwead Al Ajami (Ulano, 31.09 seconds, QR3,500) and Mohammed Saeed Haidan (Casanova, 32.07 seconds, QR2,450) completed the top five.
Earlier in the day, Mohammed Khalifa Albaker topped the knockout competition (115-125cm) with Arselina to claim the top prize of QR3,750. Artselina's winning time was 28.83 seconds.
Salman Mohammed Al Emadi was eliminated in the third round to finish second with Best Of Des Forets (30.50, QR3,000).
Mohammed Saeed Haidan (Ziezo, 26.53) and Achraf Oualla (Dino BB Z, 28.05) won QR 1,875 for finishing third and fourth respectively.
Fares Saeed Al Rashidi, one of the Qatari riders competing in Hathab Series, said yesterday: 'I am very happy to feature in this series. This is the second season in a row that I am competing in Hathab Series. I am gaining in experience by competing against the senior riders.
Al Rashidi added: 'The championship has changed the course of my life thanks to initiative of Qatar Equestrian Federation. I continue my studies also but at the same time I was keen to take part in the series as well after the first three rounds.
Al Rashidi thanked Badr Al Darwish, Secretary General of QEF, Ali Yousif Al Rumaihi, the Tournament Director, and Omar Al Mannai, Chairman of the Organising Committee for ‘the outstanding support and organisation of the championship'.
At the end of the final competition, the Big Tour, Badr Al Darwish gave away the prizes to the podium finishers.
A brainchild of H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), the Hathab Series was formed in partnership with QEF and Al Shaqab. The equestrian series provide incentives for the outstanding and talented riders in all categories, helping them grab the attention of national selectors and sponsors to take their careers to the next level.
