Afreximbank backs Tunisian trade with USD 800 mln


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has opened two lines of credit with a total value of USD 800 million to help Tunisian goods enter African markets.
A USD 500 million-worth credit line was opened for to support trade and export of Tunisian goods and another USD 300 million-worth credit line was allocated to help Tunisian banks finance investment and trade in Africa, Afreximbank President & CEO Benedict Okey Oramah told reporters after meeting with Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed on Monday in Kasbah palace.
Oramah stated that Afreximbank would open soon a regional office covering North Africa in Tunis.
The announcements were made one day ahead of the inauguration of the second International Conference on Financing Investment and Trade in Africa in Tunis. (end) ksj.ibi
