'The UAE is a unique international model in tolerance and fraternity,' says Former Egyptian Prime Minister

ABU DHABI, 3rd February, 2019 (WAM) -- Ibrahim Mahlab, the former Egyptian Prime Minister, asserted that the values of tolerance and coexistence are well-established in the UAE, and its organising the Global Conference of Human Fraternity is considered proof of the leading stature it has at an international level, considering it to be a unique model for tolerance and fraternity between all its residents.

Mahlab said today, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the launch of the Global Conference of Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi, that the UAE is considered a unique example in tolerance, pointing out that visitors coming to the country feel the values of tolerance, love and goodness, which are established in this great nation.

He noted that the Global Conference of Human Fraternity presents to the world an important message from the UAE, affirming the importance of strengthening dialogue between the religions and establishing the values of goodness and tolerance between all humankind.

Regarding the historic visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, and the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed el-Tayeb, Imam of Al Azhar to the UAE, Mahlab affirmed the importance of this historic visit and the strong messages related to the Arab people, who believe in the values of tolerance and coexistence, and realise these values are the main pillars in achieving development in the communities.

Mahlab also directed thanks to the UAE's leadership, government and people for organising this international conference and hosting this gathering of religious leaders, cultured individuals and officials from throughout the world, in order to assert the importance of strengthening the principles of human brotherliness.

The sessions of the Global Conference of Human Fraternity, launched today in Abu Dhabi, which will discuss several axes under the title benchmarks of human fraternity, calls for building a culture of peace, establishing the concept of citizenship and confronting religious extremism to ensure creating the aspired human fraternity.
