(MENAFN) Uruguayan meatpacker Rondatel S.A. is aiming to expand export of its black-pack meat products to the Chinese market, amid increasing demand for premium meat by Chinese consumers.
Rondatel is the only meatpacking plant in Uruguay that tracks its meat by animal on the label that goes to the end consumer.
The General Manager said consumers "can scan the barcode and see the animal's route from birth - how old it is - and trace the food they are going to consume."
Rondatel also exports to several markets, including Europe and the United States, but it has its eyes on China.
