Jordan- PM meets JBA board

Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Tuesday met President of the Jordanian Business Association (JBA) Board of Directors, Hamdi Tabba, and board members to discuss challenges facing the private sector to enhance the national economy.

The premier was briefed on measures to spur the economy and boost commercial relations with Iraq, adding that his government is seeking closer commercial ties with neighboring countries.

He pointed to his recent official visits to Turkey, Iraq and the United States, as well as his participation in the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Lebanon and the World Economic Forum, stressing that Jordan's respect in the world will open new doors for more cooperation with nations and international institutions.

Razzaz said that Jordan looks forward to the London conference in February to support its economy and investment opportunities in the Kingdom.

He said that the discussions that he had during his recent visit to Iraq will help achieve a qualitative leap in the Jordanian market and that the private sector will have a key role in this endeavor.

The Prime Minster and the JBA members agreed to hold another meeting in the next period to discuss issues affecting the private sector.
