(MENAFN) On Saturday, Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui affirmed that Syria's "natural place" is within the Arab League as his country organizes to host the organization's yearly summit on March 31.
He made his comments after receiving in Tunis Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is on a tour of North African countries.
Jhinaoui stated during a news conference with his Russian counterpart, "Syria is an Arab state, and its natural place is within the Arab League".
He added, "The question of Syria returning to the Arab League does not depend on Tunisia but on the Arab League".
