Ghana: mine explosion kills 13 workers

(MENAFN) A regional official declared that 13 mines have been killed in Ghana after breathing smoke from an explosion they set off.

Paulina Abayage declared that the miners who suffocated to death were working at the Chinese-owned Shaanxi Mining Ghana at Gbane in the Upper East Region.

She added that more miners were hurt and shifted to a regional hospital for medical care.

The Minerals Commission has ordered the company to cancel all mining missions at the spot.
