Sri Lanka- Amnesty writes to PM on Prageeth's disappearance

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Amnesty International has written to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe over the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

Today marks nine years since Prageeth Eknaligoda was reported missing.

Amnesty noted with disappointment that very little information has been made available to investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the last four years.

The court case is currently proceeding, but in the absence of full disclosure by the military on details of the investigation requested by the CID of the Sri Lanka Police, Amnesty International said.

Eknaligoda was believed to have been in military custody at an Army camp before he went missing. (Colombo Gazette)
