Thailand to organize festive Chinese New Year eve

(MENAFN) Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is set to launch festivities for China's New Year eve in cooperation with China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Chinese Embassy.

TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn emphasized the significant and outstanding value the celebration holds this year.

It comes after, the governor noted, Thailand saw an increase in Chinese arrivals to break a record of 10 million last year.

The governor pointed out that "TAT expects to welcome over 330,000 Chinese tourists during the seven-day period (Feb.4 to 10)."

Supasorn added that "they represent more than 30 percent of the overall total of 1.03 million international arrivals that are expected to visit Thailand over the Chinese New Year."
