Mexico: death toll of pipeline blast rises to 95


(MENAFN) The Mexican government declared that the death toll of a fuel pipeline blast on Jan. 18 in the central state of Hidalgo has risen to 95.

The Minister of Health Jorge Alcocer and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador confirmed have confirmed the victims.

Jorge Alcocer added: "44 patients remain under care. Six of them are being treated in hospitals in Hidalgo, seven in the state of Mexico and 31 in Mexico City."

The blast followed by a fire took place at a pipeline site in the community of San Primitivo in the municipality of Tlahuelilpan at around 7:00 p.m. local time (0100 GMT) on Friday.
