Tunisia, Hungary agree on boosting cooperation at various levels


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Jan 23 (KUNA) -- Tunis and Hungary on Wednesday worked out an agreement on boosting cooperation in diverse domains and holding the fourth session of the joint economic commission in Budapest in April.
Visiting Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, speaking at a news conference, lauded Tunisia for beefing up borders' security, internal stability and contributing to efforts to maintain Europe's security.
Hungary will offer 200 academic scholarships to Tunisians per year, he said, expressing readiness to help in building a water sewage treatment station in Tunisia.
Tunisian Minister of Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui, speaking at the same news conference, said he agreed with his guest to hold the joint commission upcoming session in the Hungarian capital, in second half of April.
He indicated that he and his Hungarian counterpart shed light during the session on cooperation within framework of the Visegrad Group which includes the two countries, Poland, the Czech and Slovakia.
These countries have formed the group to enhance cooperation at the economic, security and the illegal immigration levels.
The Tunisian official indicated that the Group member states and Germany would hold a meeting, in early February, for discussing cooperation in cadres' training, upgrading capacities of internal security forces, the armies, border guards, squads for combating organized crime and terrorism.
He has also indicated at a concord on enhancing cooperation in investment, tourism and transports, namely through activation of the direct air route. (end) ksj.rk
