UAE- Rashid Al Nuaimi directs local authorities to employ AI in infrastructure development

AJMAN, 23rd January, 2019 (WAM) -- H.H Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, directed the administrations of infrastructure development divisions in Ajman to employ artificial intelligence, AI, and advanced programmes while stressing the confidence of the department in its human resources and their ability to create change.

While explaining the Infrastructure Development Division Strategy 2019-2021, Sheikh Rashid said that the division aims to adopt the best international practices, and its ambitious organisational vision involves obtaining four ISO certificates and eight awards, as well as many internal awards, in three years.

He also pointed out that the projects that will be implemented by the department over the next three years include the 'Heritage District', which is a unique project, due to its architectural and moral values and its location in the historical centre of the emirate near Ajman Museum while noting that the department aims to use recycled materials to protect the environment through the 'Zayed Oasis' project.

He added that the 'Ajman X Path' project aims to link the department's buildings and the Ajman X Centre, and the 'Ajman 90' project aims at taking 90-degree photos of the emirate, which has become an attractive destination for tourists from around the world.

Sheikh Rashid then pointed out that 'Ajman Pulse' project aims to raise the efficiency of the surrounding environment through the use of available resources, to achieve sustainable development and improve the emirate's quality of life.

Sheikh Rashid was briefed by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Division, about the management strategies of various local divisions and their future initiatives.

Al Muhairi also noted that the Planning and Survey Administration will update Ajman's 'Urban Plan 2030', to link the emirate's vision, objectives and indicators with the development of similar international cities, approved international certification systems, 12 digital services, and the use of AI in planning and monitoring services.
