The Indian cricket team is set to be without its skipper Virat Kohli after the third ODI against New Zealand.

This decision has been taken hours after India won the first ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Vice-captain Rohit Sharma will lead the side in his absence.

Here's more on the same.

Besides the fourth and fifth ODIs against the Kiwis, Kohli is also set to miss out on the T20I series as well.

India play three T20Is against the hosts post the 50-over format.

The BCCI confirmed today that there will be no replacement for Kohli in the tour.

India will therefore make use of the squad they had selected earlier.

Kohli also sat out of the Asia Cup in the UAE in September, besides the T20I series against West Indies in November.
