S. Sudan to add 70,000bpd to oil production by year's end

(MENAFN) South Sudan's petroleum minister Ezekiel Lul Gatkuoth announced the country to have reached a decision to raise its present oil production.

South Sudan, the petroleum minister unveiled, will be adding 70,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) by this year's end.

Unity and Toma South oilfields, the minister noted, generate a combined 35,000 bpd with a plan for this oil production to hit 70,000 by the end of the year.

It comes after Unity oilfields recommenced their operations this month, producing 15,000 bpd of oil following a 5-year halt.
