Qatar- HBKU signs pact with University of Nizwa in Oman

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently welcomed a delegation from the University of Nizwa, Oman, who toured its various colleges and research institutes before signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining co-operation to promote research and training activities.
Dr Ahmad M Hasnah, president, HBKU and Prof Ahmed bin Khalfan al-Rawahi, chancellor, University of Nizwa, signed the MoU in the presence of senior officials from both universities and Qatar Foundation (QF).
The MoU will see both universities engage in educational and scientific co-operation, forging a strategic partnership to promote excellence in research, education and training through a student exchange programme, visiting faculty programme, dual degree programmes, seminars, and research collaboration. During the visit, the Nizwa delegation met with senior members from QF and HBKU to learn more about the university's colleges and research institutes.
Moreover, the delegation visited Education City QF's flagship development which is home to a range of educational facilities, including QF schools, partner universities and its homegrown institution, Hamad Bin Khalifa University. On the sidelines of the visit, Prof Ahmed Suleiman al-Harrasi, vice-chancellor for Graduate Studies, Research, and External Relations, University of Nizwa, delivered a presentation covering several topics related to health and life sciences, including medicinal plants and natural products; drug discovery; genomics and transcriptomics; anti-venom research; cancer research; and stem cells.
HBKU continually pursues international partnerships to engage the global community in knowledge exchange, facilitate high-quality research, and nurture a thriving education ecosystem.
