Afghanistan: 17 Taliban militants die in gunfights, raids


(MENAFN) Authorities declared that over 17 Taliban militants have died as 11 more were injured in unrelated incidents in Afghanistan.

Hanif Rezai, spokesman of army Corps 209 Shaheen confirmed that in one case, seven Taliban have died as 11 were injured after gunfights between Afghan army troopers and militants broke out in Qaisar district of Afghanistan's northern Faryab province late Sunday.

He added that in the nearby Sari Pul province, three Taliban militants have died after an attack carried out by army on Sunday.

No member of Afghan military has been wounded in the gunfights.
