(MENAFN) Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered a crackdown on drugs in all national schools across the island country to stop the dealing of drugs, in particular among students and youth.
Local media revealed that the national week is to start as of Jan. 21 to Jan. 28.
The procedures and programs set for the week are to be carried out in all schools from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time each day.
The drug crackdown will include activities held in classrooms educating students on the risks of drug consumption, visits by parents to schools to join the students on drug tackle activities and educating children on the legal framework on drug abuse and prevention.
