FM meets Arab counterparts in Beirut

Beirut, Jan. 20 (Petra) -- Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, on Sunday met a number of his Arab counterparts in the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit (AESD).

He separately met with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister, Riyad al-Maliki, Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita, and Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui.

The meetings discussed means of promoting relations and enhancing cooperation, as well as the latest regional developments and ways to deal with them to solve the conflicts in the region and strengthen peace and stability; and serve mutual Arab interests and causes.

They also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Ordinary Arab Summit that is going to take place Tunis in March, which will be important for enhancing joint Arab action and coordination in the face of mutual challenges.
