Iran sees boost in shrimp exports


(MENAFN) Iran witnessed a boost in its shrimp exported since the Iranian fiscal year started on March 20, 2018, reaching more than 24,000 tons.

Head of the Fisheries Organization Hassan Salehi unveiled the figure on Sunday while speaking to IRNA during an interview.

By the end of the fiscal year, the organization's chief confirmed, Iran is forecast to export an additional 30,000 tons of shrimp.

Salehi added that more than 38,000 tons of shrimp was farmed in Iran in 2018, with 26,000 tons being exported and as much as 12,000 tons being on sale in the country.
