Jordan all ready for Vietnam clash

Dubai, Jan. 18 (Petra) ـــــ As their first clash in the round of 16 getting closer, Jordan's national football team stepped up its preparations for the game that will kick-start on Sunday against Vietnam.

The team had their penultimate training session toady at Dubai's Police Officers Club Stadium. The Nashama [the nickname given to the national team], led by Belgian coach Vital Borkelmans, have high hopes of going far in the tournament as they kept a clean sheet and unbeaten record for 3 matches.

The Nashama stunned reigning champions Australia with a 1-0 victory, won the derby with Syria 2-0 before being held to a goalless draw by Palestine.

Borkelmans expressed his confidence in his young squad who keep good team spirit and have the firepower to score goals against Vietnam.

The clash against Vietnam will be thrilling, Borkelmans told a sports' media delegation, and added he watched the opponent's last game against Yemen and took observations.

Both teams' coaches will hold their pre-match press conference tomorrow to talk more about the game.
