Turkey jumps 50 percent in video gaming industry


(MENAFN) Turkey was unveiled on Friday to have recorded a significant 50 percent year-on-year boost in its video foreign video game sales last year.

According Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, the video gaming industry in Turkey reached USD1.05 billion of profit in its exports last year.

USD700 million of earnings in gaming exports were achieved in 2017, the minister noted, while USD500 million were collected in 2016.

Pekcan stressed that "the astonishing figures show the great potential in the sector."

She further added: "the size of the gaming market in Turkey reached $750 million and the rapid growth of the sector contributes greatly to the formation and development of the ecosystem in this field."
