Oman- No change in mechanism of speed radars: ROP

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The ROP has stated that there is no change in the mechanism of speed radars/cameras on roads in the sultanate.

An English daily had reported on Wednesday that grace speed allowance of 15km/hr over the designated limit will no longer be applicable in areas prone to accidents.

The report stated that the ROP had conducted a study to find out the locations which are accident prone and plans to scrap the grace speed limit in these areas.

In a statement, it said, 'The ROP, represented by the Directorate General of Traffic, confirms that there has been no change in the mechanism used for the operation of speed control devices. We call on everyone to adhere to the specified speed limits on roads.'
