(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Bausher leg of the Aedes aegypti elimination campaign began on Wednesday. This is part of the ongoing campaign launched by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to eradicate dengue mosquitoes in the Governorate of Muscat.
The campaign is being conducted in collaboration with the Muscat Municipality and other relevant stakeholders. The launch event was held in the presence of H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Sa'eedi, Minister of Health, and a number of Shura and Municipal Council members.
H E Dr Sa'eedi reviewed the campaign's work progress and met those involved in the organisation, participation, and volunteering of the campaign. He praised the campaign work in the wilayat of Seeb and sought public cooperation in future as well.
The MoH and Muscat Municipality in cooperation with their excellencies, offices of walis as well as volunteers, have finalised the preparations for conducting the campaign in other parts of the governorate too. These include taking stock of the necessary resources, training of field teams that will visit some households and other logistics.
To fulfil the objectives of the campaign, MoH and Muscat Municipality have also called upon citizens and residents to take active part in helping officials eradicate the disease-carrying mosquitoes. The authorities have also called on public to seek information only from reliable sources. Citizens and residents can communicate with the Ministry of Health's Contact Center and the Muscat Municipality Contact Center for any queries.
The two-week campaign, which began on January 8 concludes on January 21.
