(MENAFN) The meteorology and geophysics agency declared that an earthquake of a 5.7 magnitude has startled Aceh province in the western part of Indonesia Thursday.
Fahmi Muntaha, an official at the agency confirmed that the quake took place at 09:53 a.m. local time, with the epicenter determined 202 km northwest of Kota Sabang.
Indonesia is known for common quakes as it is located on a weak quake-affected zone named "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
