SDC refuses proposed safe zone by Turkey

(MENAFN) The U.S. proposal for Turkey to establish a safe zone in northern Syria was denounced by a Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) leader.

A safe zone in northern Syria with Turkey as its administrator is completely refused, stressed SDC joint chief Riad Dardar, as reported Al Arabiya TV on Wednesday.

Dardar affirmed that "Turkey should have no hand in such area, neither do the extremist militants, which should not be allowed to get in or out of such a zone."

He further emphasized that such a safe zone ought to be supervised by a party other than conflicting sides.
