(MENAFN) Police declared that over four police officers have died in an insider attack in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday.
A provincial police spokesman Qasim Azad confirmed: "The gruesome incident happened early Wednesday in Panjawai district's Mishan area when two policemen, allegedly the Taliban infiltrators opened fire on four of their colleagues inside their checkpoint, killing them on the spot and fled the area."
The spokesman added that police have launched probes into the attack.
The Taliban group hasn't made any statements regarding the incident yet.
