Syria must step up settlement efforts to rejoin Arab League: FM


(MENAFN) If it wished to rejoin the Arab League, the Syrian government must step up its efforts to achieve a political settlement for the Syrian crisis.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry made the call during a joint news conference with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.

Shoukry emphasized that this kind of measures ought to be "in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution 2254."

He added: "there's a need to get out of the current crisis in Syria through the political framework sponsored by the UN envoy in Geneva."
