(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ras Al Khaimah Municipality has ordered closure of a traditional eatery for flouting hygiene rules.
As per a video that went viral on social media, the staff at the restaurant were preparing chicken in an unhealthy way on the ground, before cooking it.
The civic body, alerted of the violation, immediately dispatched inspectors to the eatery.
"The violations proved to be genuine, and the inspectors ordered instant closure of the restaurant." The outlet shall remain closed until the they pay the fine and the violation is clarified, said municipality officials.
"An undertaking should also be signed that such violation will not be repeated in the future. In repetition of the violation, a bigger fine and permanent closure shall be ordered."
The RAK Municipality has, meanwhile, launched a number of inspections against shopping malls and centres, eateries, supermarkets, grocery stores, as well as vegetable and fish markets.
"More stringent inspections will be launched across the emirate, and municipal inspectors will inspect all food outlets in the emirate."
