(MENAFN) Over the past year, seventeen journalists and personnel in the field of media were confirmed dead in Afghanistan, reported the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC).
Such deaths have driven Afghanistan to be declared as the most dangerous country for journalists.
The deaths, the AJSC unveiled, were reported in an overall of 121 assault cases against journalists and media personnel in 2018.
In its report, the AJSC stressed that "similar to 2017, ISIS [another name for Daesh terror group] and the Taliban are responsible for the majority of cases of violence, namely 50 cases."
