(MENAFN - Gulf Times) The Ministry of Public Health has announced its official sponsorship of the second edition of the Qatar International Medical Devices & Healthcare Exhibition and Conferences (QMED).
The event, is being organised by Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences from March 24 to 26 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, with an expected participation of over 100 local and international companies.
'The support of the Ministry of Public Health to QMED reflects the ministry's strong commitment to the health sector which is regarded as the pivot of social development, said Ali Abdulla al-Khater, chief communications officer and chair of the Healthcare Communications Committee.
He pointed out the desire of the ministry to open channels of communication between different players in the health sector, as part of its goal to upgrade the health sector as well as to create a networking platform. Al-Khater stressed that the ministry is keen to support all initiatives aimed at achieving further development in the health sector.
He also expressed the hope that the QMED will enhance the benefit offered to medical equipment manufacturers by providing them with a wide range of opportunities.
Khalifa al-Mohannadi, manager of Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences, hailed the official support extended by the Ministry of Public Health.
'The QMED display area is around 5,000sq m, with participation of more than 100 local and international companies and institutions, including prominent leaders in the development and provision of medical equipment, hospital supplies and medical laboratories.
He stressed that the developments over the past years in various sectors in Qatar, especially in the health sector, was the catalyst for holding this important event, since Qatar is one of the most advanced providers of health services in the Gulf region.
The exhibition will include 10 key sections including medical supplies industry, educational medicine sector and medical tourism.
This is in addition to dedicated exhibition sections for diabetes and dental field, critical health issues in Qatar and the Gulf region.
