The Ministry of Culture and Sports has urged people and organisations participating in the Qatar Sports Day on February 12 to submit details of their plans by January 20.
The applications should be sent to nsdmcs.gov.qa, the ministry said in a statement.
It said the participants must abide by the standards and regulations issued by Emiri Decision No 80 of 2011.
The plans must ensure achieving the desired goals especially those related to raising awareness on the importance of playing sports for all ages during the Sports Day, the ministry said.
The events must focus on physical and awareness activities and highlight the importance of exercising as a daily healthy behaviour, the statement said.
It also said the organisers must ensure the events promote the importance of sport and its role in the lives of individuals and communities and that the proposed sporting activities are suited to the age and health of the participants in terms of types and duration so as to avoid physical stress and injury.
The ministry also said no temporary sports tents or buildings should be set up in parks and public places as they could pose security and safety risks.
The entities must commit to offer healthy food, avoid fast food and refrain for distributing free gifts and food to the public.
The ministry called for avoiding long hours of exercise which may cause physical stress and muscle injuries.
It also said the activities must be held in such a way that they do not lead to traffic congestion and cause inconvenience to people.
