Ambassador Abu Windi, PLO official discuss cooperation on human rights issues

Ramallah, Jan. 3 (Petra) - Head of the Kingdom's Representation Office to Palestine, Mohammed Abu Windi, met on Thursday with Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee member Ahmad al-Tamimi.

During the meeting, Abu Windi and al-Tamimi discussed the role and functions of the PLO's Human Rights Department .

Abu Windi said "Jordan has stood with Palestine at all levels and arenas, and will not hesitate to offer support to the rights of the Palestinian people until they achieve independence and establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."

For his part, al-Tamimi lauded Jordan's support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.

He also stressed the need to cooperate with Jordan's competent authorities in the human rights field, in a bid to counter violations committed by Israel and extremist settlers against the Palestinian people, their lands and sanctities.
