Thompson's experience in banking began as a commercial loan officer. Over the years, he gained experience with key roles in credit management and portfolio strategies for various financial institutions. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he obtained a BBA in Finance. Additionally, Thompson's continuing education includes being a graduate of the ABA National Commercial and Corporate Lending and the ABA National Advanced Commercial Lending School at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 2015, he also obtained various RMA Certificates in Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Lending and Wealth Management.
