(MENAFN) The Saudi Project for Landmines Clearance in Yemen (MASAM) got rid of an overall of 26,609 landmines in Yemen ever since the initiative was launched.
By the second week of its commencement, 64 anti-personnel mines have been removed along with 1,430 anti-vehicle mines, 85 explosive devices and 955 unexploded ordnance.
Saudi King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) introduced the project which aims to save Yemen from the landmines Houthi terrorists placed across the country.
The militants sought to hide the mines in various means, leading for the death of countless children, women, and elders, as well as inflicting injuries to others.
