German mosque raided for suspected support of Syrian fighter


(MENAFN) German Police have raided a mosque in Berlin whose preacher was suspected of transferring money to an Islamist fighter in Syria for the purpose of conducting "terrorist criminal acts".

According to the General Prosecutor"s Office, officers searched the As-Sahaba mosque in Berlin"s northern district of Wedding where the suspect, known as Abul Baraa preaches.

There was no available comment from the cleric or any lawyer representing him.
