Lebanese party denounces Sudanese president visit to Syria

(MENAFN) A Lebanese party condemned a trip Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir made to the Syrian capital of Damascus.

It comes after Syria's President Bashar al-Assad welcomed Sudan's president in Damascus on Sunday, addressing ties and latest regional events.

The Lebanese Forces accused the Sudanese president of ignoring "the suffering of 10 million Syrians" whom the violence left displaced.

The Lebanese Christian political party stressed that "Al-Bashir visited Damascus as if there was no need whatsoever for any political process in Syria."

It further added: "under the current circumstances, any visit to Damascus comes at the expense of hundreds of thousands of slain Syrians and will contribute to keeping Syria fragmented."
