Oman signs two pacts with Occidental Petroleum cover concessions 51, 56


(MENAFN) On Sunday, Oman contracted two pacts with a unit of Occidental Petroleum, covering concessions 51 and 65, the oil ministry of the sultanate stated in a tweet.

Oil Minister Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhi contracted the pact covering concession 51 with Occidental Oman and the pact on concession 65 with Occidental Oman and Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production, a unit of state-owned Oman Oil Co, the tweet emphasized, giving no more information.

Oman's oil production is around 995,000 barrels every day. The sultanate is not a member of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries but it participated in a pact reached by OPEC and other exporters previous this month to decrease global supply in order to boost oil prices.
