It is established as a State Private University under Govt. of Maharashtra Act No. XL of 2017 dated 3rd May 2017, with the approval of the UGC and the state Government.
A number of committees are constituted as per the act and will recommend the curriculum, addition/deletion of courses, assessment system, discipline and conduct of students to AC, to ensure that the quality of upgradation and the relevance of the program are maintained to meet the present changes that are taking place at different levels of higher education system.
SGU has also constituted its own Academic Council, Academic Advisory Committee, Finance Committee, Library committee, Department under Graduate Committee, Class Committee, Evaluation Committee, Marks Finalization Committee, Mal-Practice Committee, Grievance Redressal Committee, Standing Disciplinary Action Committee, and Hostel Committee etc. All these committees ensure that the university functions as per the norms laid down by the UGC / State Government and such other regulatory bodies.
