Egypt seeks jump in Zohr gas field production

(MENAFN) Egypt is projecting a boost to be seen in the output of its Zohr offshore gas field next year to hit more than 3 billion cubic feet per day.

It comes as Egypt looks to turn into a leading regional market in liquefied natural gas (LNG) after it made a series of key discoveries over the past years.

The offshore gas field received USD7.7 billion of investments, as the Egyptian Petroleum Ministry unveiled months back.

The ministry is seeking to lure foreign investment of around USD10 billion to be directed into the country's oil and gas sector.
