Qatar- Health Minister inaugurates Fareej Abdulaziz Health Center for expats

Doha: Minister of Public Health, H E Dr Hanan Mohamad Al Kuwari has inaugurated the Fareej Abdulaziz Health Center for male expatriate workers, yesterday.

The event was attended by a number of officials from the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS).

The facility, the fourth expatriate workers' health center to be operated by QRCS under an agreement with MOPH, has a capacity to handle 20,000 visiting patients per month.

Dr Kuwari asserted that the ministry is keen on providing residents with comprehensive high- standard health services where they are located.

The Minister said that the inauguration of the Fareej Abdulaziz Health Center comes as part of the government's plan to expand health projects and medical services to meet the Qatar's health needs. In this regards, she pointed out that this year witnessed the inauguration of Sidra Medicine, Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital in the Industrial Area, and several other Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) health centers and medical services, as well as the Al Waab and Al Wajbah Health Centers of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

Dr Mohammed Bin Ghanim Al-Ali Al-Maadheed, the Chairman of QRCS, has said that the inauguration of the Fareej Abdulaziz Health Center marks the ongoing strategic partnership between MOPH and QRCS that has been established for over eight years in the field of healthcare services, adding that the QRCS is currently operating four health centers and three medical commission units across the state.

He noted that the center offers his healthcare services around the clock in the general clinics, while the specialized clinics are available on two morning and evening shifts with highly trained medical and admin staff according to world-class standards.

Freej Abdulaziz Health Center offers an array of integrated healthcare services, including six general clinics as well as specialized clinics for cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, ENT, internal medicine, dentistry, as well as pharmacy, radiology and laboratory services.
