Amman, Dec. 12 (Petra) -- Minister of Health, Ghazi Zaben, on Wednesday said developing the center of diabetes in the Prince Hamza Hospital in Amman and reinforcing its staff are at the top of the ministry's priorities, due to its vital role in treating people.
During his visit to the center to be briefed about its needs and services provided, Zaben said he will make necessary arrangements to make the center hold trainings for residency accredited by the Jordanian Medical Council (JMC).
President of the center, the Endocrinology and Diabetes Consultant, Muwafaq al-Hayari, spoke about the nature of the center's work, its statistics and information about the diabetics, in addition to the mechanism of treating them and future aspirations.
He pointed out that the center encompasses a number of clinics specialized in diabetes such as the clinics of Endocrine glands, internal medicine, neurology, kidneys, eyes, and health awareness, in addition to a separate section to treat diabetic feet.
