(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Tunisia and Germany inked on Wednesday an agreement according to which Berlin would lend the north African Arab country euro 100 million to repair the water sector.
The accord was signed by Tunisian Minister of Development Ziad Al-Ladhari and the manager of the German Reconstruction Credit Institute (KFW) bureau for the reconstruction in Tunisia, Sven Neunsinger.
In a statement, minister Al-Ladhari underlined significance of the accord in the shadow of water scarcity, also noting necessity of rational management of the sector in short and long terms.
For his part, the German official affirmed Berlin's readiness to continue supporting Tunisia's broad development schemes and reform programs.
The KFW is a German government-owned development bank, based in Frankfurt. It was founded in 1948 after World War II, as part of the Marshall Plan. (end) ksj.rk
