(MENAFN) Syria is required to establish its own space program and fire its first satellite to space, stressed Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology Iyad Khatib.
The call was made by the Syrian minister during a meeting with personnel of the Syrian space research agency GORS (General Organization of Remote Sensing).
During the meeting, AMN reported, GORS management and staff displayed projects related to the matter to the minister.
Khatib stated: "GORS should develop a road map for the Syrian space program, as well as for the launch of the first artificial satellite into Earth's orbit, like other Arab countries."
