Chinese province temporary bans wild bird hunting


(MENAFN) The local forestry department declared that China's southern province of Guangdong is to issue a ban, lasting for five years, on wild bird hunting as of Jan. 1 of 2019.

During the period, hunting wild birds is prohibited except for ecological, scientific, disease-prevention or flight-safety purposes.

They have also barred using and trading bird nets and traps.

The local forestry department confirmed that the province will tackle wild bird trading and smuggling.
