Afghanistan: 8 die n gunfights between militants, soldiers


(MENAFN) Provincial government spokesman Jamshid Shahabi declared that eight people, with 7 militants among them, have died in gunfights between security forces and Taliban members in the western Badghis province on Tuesday night.

The official added that the gunfights broke out in Qadis and Muqar districts Tuesday night after the Taliban fighters attacked some checkpoints and police retaliated against the attackwhich kept going for a while.

The official confirmed that the two militants and one security man have died in Qadis district as three more militants were wounded, while five other militants died and six others injured in Muqar district respectively.

Taliban outfit is yet to make statements regarding the incident. €ƒ
