DOHA: Qatar International Cables Company (QICC), aiming to establish more networks and promote collaboration among electricity corporations within the Arab Countries and their counterparts across the world, participated and showcased its products at the recently concluded 6th General Conference and Exhibition of Arab Union Electricity, which was held in Jordanian capital Amman from December 5-6, 2018.
It was chaired by Eng Essa ben Hilal Al Kuwari, president of Kahramaa. The event held under the slogan ‘Electricity in the Arab World, Current Status and Future Aspirations' was attended by many key electricity figures from Qatar and other Arab countries. Through its presence in this conference, QICC aimed mainly to enhance the cooperation, experience and expertise between engineers of electric sectors in the development of power networks, encouraging research and development in the fields of power transmission and distribution and to promote made in Qatar cable solutions for the development of the power network in the Arab World.
During the event Al Kuwari expressed his continuous support to the Qatari electrical equipment manufacturers especially QICC. Hala Zawati, Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources encouraged QICC to expand its business and cooperation in Jordan.
On the participation at Arab Union Electricity Conference, Max Andre Delannoy, CEO of QICC and General manager Nexans GCC, said: ' We are very proud to take part to the Arab Union of Electricity high level conference and to have the opportunity to show case to the leaders of the power utilities our extensive range of world class power cable solutions, and to promote made in Qatar products. That's how QICC brings energy to life in the Arab World.
QICC is a NEXANS company established in Qatar in 2008 as a joint venture with Al Mirqab Capital. Its manufacturing facility in Messaied has been recently upgraded and expanded.
