(MENAFN) Two Russian bombers capable of carrying nuclear arms landed in Venezuela last night among strong disparagement by U.S. officials.
On Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry emphasized that two bombers Tu-160, a strategic airlift jet aircraft An-124 and a jet aircraft Il-62 had been sent to Venezuela.
The move is intended to learn Venezuela to protect itself against any violence, said Russian Defense Minister Padrino Lopez.
In a strong reaction, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a tweet: "The Russian and Venezuelan people should see this for what it is: two corrupt governments squandering public funds, and squelching liberty and freedom while their people suffer."
